Bulgarian Mortgages
If you would like to arrange finance for your Bulgarian property we are happy to assist with this. We can provide all the relevant documentation for your credit application. There are a number of methods of securing finance on your property so it is best to discuss this directly with us. Some of our buyers choose to release equity from their existing properties whereas other buyers opt to take a mortgage from a Bulgarian bank.
If you would like to take a Bulgarian mortgage then we are happy to recommend

for foreign investors. They can usually arrange an agreement in principle for you within
a few days and once you have that you can proceed to reserve the property.

The official Bulgarian currency is the Lev and it is pegged to the Euro at a fixed rate. As a result all our contracts are based in euros. For customers who are transferring funds from a currency other than euros we recommend that you use a currency broker rather than your bank as banks do not offer very competitive exchange rates or fee.

Local Bank Accounts
Many buyers find it useful to have a bank account with a local Bulgarian bank. This can be used for payment
of bills, paying a mortgage if you have one and also for receiving rental payments. If you need assistance in setting up a local bank account don’t hesitate to contact us.
Legal Services
With any property purchase it is very important to ensure that you have the correct legal representation. In Bulgaria they use a system of public notaries which are regulated by the government and check that all your documents are in order before the property is transferred to you. In additional to this some buyers also choose to retain a personal lawyer to give them additional protection.
