Bulgaria property sales to expats up 10%

So far this year Bulgaria property sales to Bulgarians working abroad have increased 10% , said local Bulgaria property agency Address. The number of transactions spikes during the summer period when they arrive here for their mid-year holidays. Address distinguishes between several types of expat customers, depending on their career status abroad.Bulgarians with entry-level or mid-tier positions abroad tend to go for two or three room Bulgaria apartments which they intend to occupy once they return from their overseas stint. These are usually 25 to 35-year-old singles with no foreign nationality. Bulgarian expats aged over 40 with a second nationality prefer country houses near metropolitan areas where they intend to retire. Bulgaria property sales to expats in high-level executive positions are viewed as an investment opportunity. They buy newly-built homes in the center of big cities.

The Bulgarians living in the UK take out a loan from a British bank and buy-to-let a second home in the city center, an upscale neighborhood or a gated community. These customers are aged 30 to 37 and prefer Sofia, Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv as the location for their Bulgaria property.

The Bulgarian expat community in Spain shops for undersized apartments that are rented out until the owners decide to return to their home country for good.

Unlike their compatriots living in the UK, the Bulgarian expats in Spain and Greece shy away from the banks of their adoptive country and finance the Bulgaria property purchase themselves.
